We had an amazing stay at Hillbrook for our honeymoon! We stayed in the Spring Cottage which was adorable. We dined at the restaurant both nights and did a wine pairing one of the nights (you must try the wine pairing). One of the many stand outs was the staff, they are so welcoming and kind. We also had a couples massage at the spa which was much needed, the space is so relaxing and the masseuses were fantastic! We hope to be back soon. Thank you!

Went for out 40th wedding anniversary, wonderful time. Staff was super, friendly and very helpful. Had the tasting menu for dinner. Absolutely fabulous. Food presentation top notch, and delicious. Server was fantastic. Meal paired with a Portuguese white wine, so good. Note that we are a return guest, we were there for our 25th which was also a fantastic time.

This is an amazing inn! We came here to celebrate our 24th wedding anniversary. When we arrived to our cottage, there was a thoughtful anniversary card on our bed. The grounds are so peaceful and just simply beautiful! The staff were so helpful and friendly. I can't wait to book another trip. Thank you Hillbrook Inn for an unforgettable anniversary!

This was our 3rd time staying at the Hillbrook Inn but first time in a cottage. There was an issue with our room in the main house (water leak or something weather related I presume) so we were upgraded to the Spring Cottage. Our first full day on the property we had had a 90 minute couples massage during the day and then the 3 course dinner in the evening. The food was excellent, especially the blood orange tart that we had for dessert. The cottage to ourselves was an unexpected bonus. Gas fire place, large shower with an even larger soaking tub. The only thing we did not enjoy was that the mattress in the cottage was extremely soft and had a dip in the middle. Some people love a soft mattress but we prefer firm. We did rotate the mattress for night 2, which helped somewhat with the dip. The staff could not have been nicer. Everyone was attentive without being intrusive, from the front desk staff to the servers to the room attendants. Even the property maintenance people were offering to help with anything we needed. We will be going back again next year for sure!

Our stay at the Hillbrook was BEAUTIFUL for our 8 year wedding anniversary. There is a large outdoor chess set that made for an interesting activity since it was incredibly rainy the entire weekend. We stayed in the Serenity suite which was really nice, away from most foot traffic. The window AC unit helped when the other central air unit couldn’t keep up but the room stayed comfortable. The bed was cute but could use a bit of an upgrade considering it’s a more upgraded suite but is comfortable. I wish the inn offered a free amenity for anniversaries like a bottle of wine or something that was a special treat for couples. The free breakfast was very good, made with farm fresh ingredients from what we could tell. The sausage links were thick, not the thin boxed kind. The bacon was thick and definitely a fresh cut variety. Coffee was served in nice branded mugs, water in nice goblets, and the seating offered a lot of varieties in three different locations with alternating views. I was really interested in the history since the inn is so beautiful so researching that was fun. Overall, I would definitely book this place again and maybe try a different room in another suite location for a variety, there are so many to choose from. Thanks, Hillbrook Inn!

Perfect relaxing family vacation. We stayed in the 2 suites adjacent to the Gatehouse Spa, which was a short walk from the main house for meals. Rooms were comfortable and clean, food was excellent, and service was fantastic and friendly. Spa services were great, too. Hard to find a better deal at this level of quality less than 1.5 hours from DMV. Enjoyed the hike on the Maryland side near Harper's Ferry. Also had fun in Charles Town and Shepherdstown nearby.

We had the pleasure of staying at the Hillbrook Inn & Spa to attend my sister's wedding. Her wedding was held at the Hillbrook and it was a truly wonderful day, our whole family felt it was magical. The Hillbrook is an enchanting place and we loved exploring the grounds during our stay in one of the cottages. Waking up to bird song and a beautiful view each morning was so lovely. We would then stroll leisurely up a scenic path to the main house for breakfast (which was delicious!) In the evenings we gathered around the fire pit where the Hillbrook staff lit a fire and graciously offered us "s'more kits". Core memories were made while the adults enjoyed the stunning sunset view and the kids caught fireflies & made s'mores. We're a few weeks back home and my 4 year old is still eager to tell anyone willing to listen about "his best day ever. The Hillbrook is a real treasure. I'm so grateful my sister chose it as her wedding venue and my family hopes to visit it again in the future.

This was our first time staying at Hillbrook Inn, but we did so based on it being highly recommended by friends of ours. We stayed in the Spring Cottage, which is lovely (we especially loved the BIG tub). You are in a building with 3 other cottages all attached, but we never heard and barely saw the other people staying there - the rooms are quiet and private. We got a couples massage our first night which was delightful and then had dinner at the Inn, which was a delicious and leisurely way to end our first evening there (I especially loved the chilled pea soup). Breakfasts were delicious, too, especially the omelets, the waffle, the potatoes and those big sausages. We did wish that the housekeeping had been a little more organized - we didn't find out until later on the second day that the housekeepers come when you are at breakfast - we had put our "do not disturb" sign out when we left for brekafast not knowing that and then took it off before we left for the day, expecting our room to be serviced while we were gone. It all worked out, but we wish we had been told that detail when we checked in. We also noticed some badly peeling paint on the walls in the dining room, which conveys a rathe rnegative first impression. Also on one of our nights there we went to the bar hoping to get a drink and no one was around to assist us, not at the bar or the concierge desk. So we just finally left without a drink. Another small but telling detail. Finally, the WI-FI, at least in the Spring cottage, was weak and incosistent. Couldn't even use it a number of times; that was OK, but something to be aware of. Although we enjoyed our dinner there the first night, we found some great (and cheaper) places to dine in the area (Bistro 112 in Shepherdstown and Brix 27 in Martinsburg were our favorites). A big shout out to Hannah who checked us in and also served us breakfast our first morning - she was wonderful and adorable and attentive. Also Trevor who was our waiter
